Suffolk has several sling libraries now, which is wonderful to see. In the past 2 years, 4 more libraries have popped up, covering Lowestoft, Suffolk Coastal, Bury, and another in Ipswich. However, much of Suffolk is missing out on a local library service, meaning many people have to travel to gain access to one.
Unless you have lots of money or are kitting the library out with lots of your own slings, it can be very difficult to start up. To be able to obtain insurance you need to have undertaken recognised training, and figuring out how to structure your service, getting information together etc. can be a minefield. For International Babywearing Week, we’re going to “Share the Adventure” and celebrate how far we’ve come with both Suffolk Babywearing Group and our library (SBG Sling Library) we’ve put together an amazing package for one lucky area in Suffolk! It includes:
* 1x free place on Tribal Babies’ Born To Carry Peer Supporter Course (Sunday 16th November), which will give you a solid foundation to start your library on, and also enable you to gain insurance
* Library starter information pack
* Library sling starter pack of 6 slings and counting! (so far comprising of a stretchy, 2x woven wraps, 1x ring sling, 1x buckles, 1x mei tai) plus a babywearing demo doll!
* Help and support
